Summer in the Alps

Summer in Samoëns is a holiday among the ancient buildings, with their flower covered balconies, or among the renovated wooden farms of the surrounding hamlets. It offers a multitude of activities on land, water, or in the air, in the spectacular surroundings that the septimontains (the people of Samoëns) invite you to share with them. In Samoëns, hospitality is a strong tradition.

Back to Nature

Often thought of as inaccessible, the mountains of Samoëns are incontestably synonymous with the idea of returning to nature. Having fun in the high altitude mountain torrents and lakes, having a picnic in the forest, or simply contemplating the work of mother nature all are privileged moments. And if you like the idea of pack donkeys, the many walks around Samoëns will make a change to your daily routine and help you appreciate precious shared moments. The desire for well being often includes fresh clean air, physiological effects, altitude, or the quality of the water. The national park at Sixt Fer à Cheval awaits you. And to live the moment, live more slowly!

THE ALPS : In all their diversity....

Between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, the beautiful Haut Giffre valley with its exceptional diversity of wildlife, extending to the celebrated Cirque du Fer à cheval is one of the highlights of the Haute Savoie. You can go on various treks in the footsteps of the Frahans, the famous stone cutters, and those of celebrated pesonalities such as Jacques Balmat the conqueror of Mont Blanc, the Deluc brothers, Alfred Wills and H.B de Saussure. From the Jaÿsinia Alpine botanical garden to the summit of the Buet, its stories and legends, the Haut Giffre valley offers the most precious gift of all: its natural beauty.

Mountain biking in the alps

Guided riding takes guests through some of the best Alpine singletrack riding available. Tens of kilometres of mountain bike trails with marker posts throughout the Giffre valley, including, of course, the one along the bank of the Giffre itself. Trails in the mountains are for those on top form, and for those of you who love descents, the ski lifts at Morillon will allow you to take the easy way up in the summer. Bikes and helmets etc are available for hire. Guided outings are also available if you prefer some company.

Rafting and canyoning in the alps

The Giffre river runs through the Samoens valley and offers the perfect environment for rafting and canyoning. Under the guidance of a professional qualified instructor, you will negotiate competitive rivers without the need of any previous experience. A really exhilarating experience for people who don't mind getting wet! And you'll want to do it again - guaranteed!!

Paragliding in the alps

Let yourself be guided by a professional pilot to obtain your first taste of free flight. The tandem flight is also used for training flights to help beginners progress. This really is just a taste of what's on offer in Samoens.

Nestling in a hollow of the mountain, Morzine's millenial village breathes out authenticity.
Its original village and summits around, give it the typical charm of savoyard resorts.
