Cycling

You can find cycle routes online for pretty well any part of Britain. A good starting place is Sustrans are the organisation behind the National Cycle Network -they publish an online Map of the National Cycle Network. For more detailed information on a selection of routes on the Network, see Cycle-Routes.org -this useful site is built up through user contributions, but is by no means comprehensive. Another good site is Transport for London -they do online maps of routes across the city -simply enter your start and finish points.

Pedibus is an innovative idea offering Pubcrawler Parties and tours of Shoreditch and Borough Market with their vehicle that seats eight cyclists who sit facing each other as if at a dinner table and pedal their way around, steered by a driver. The on-board bar and solar powered sound system complete the atmosphere.

On a more rural front, see Country Lanes who offer cycling hire and holidays in the New Forest and Isle of Wight from their base at Brockenhurst Station, or Country Lanes Lake District for a three-day self-guided cycling tour of the countryside that inspired Wordsworth and will make sure your 24-speed trek bike is ready for you at Windemere railway station, along with an itinerary and maps with directions to your booked bed and breakfast each night.
