Eco Hostel Malargue, Mendoza
In a beautiful rural setting, this solar-powered hostel offers the chance to get back to nature on a working finca. Fantastic mountain views, clear skies and home made tostaditas for breakfast. Part of the Hostelling International network.
Family Farm Hostel, Provincia de Buenos Aires
More than just a hostel, this is an ecovoluntourist organization dedicated to developing sustainable communities. Projects include building ecological constructions, earth buildings made of natural materials and cultivating organic gardens. Their aim is to make Family Farm Hostels a self-sufficient community through the contributions of the visitors who can choose whether they want to be mainly tourists or volunteers. Accomodation is in either a mixed dorm or a private bedrrom (for couples), and includes three meals a day, free instruction in Spanish, ecological construction, yoga, massage, and more.
Bonito HI Eco Hostel, Bonito -
The Bonito Ecological Hostel was designed and built in 1997 by its civil engineer owner. Located on the east side of the Bodoquena mountain region with some of the the cleanest rivers in the world offering a large variety of fish and wild animals, caves and balnearies. Ecological tourism activities on offer include diving, adventure tree, flotation / snorkeling, tubing, quad bike, biking, horses-riding, and diving in caves and rivers.


Eco Camp, Patagonia -
Located in a beech forest in Torres del Paine National Park, the camp comprises tented geodesic domes constructed from locally sourced materials, and inspired by native nomadic Kawesqar inhabitants. Registered under the environmental standard ISO 14001, the camp aims to have a minimal impact on the environment. It uses solar and wind energy, and has a strict waste management strategy. Visitors can trek in virgin beech forests and admire the colossal calving glaciers of the national park.
La Torre Suiza - A Backpackers Paradise in the chilean lake district.
A small hostel for the independent budget traveler, built as a wooden Swiss-Chalet. The Swiss owners, Claudia & Beat Zbinden, sold all their belongings in 1993 and cycled halfway round the world before settling in Villarrica.
Black Sheep Inn -an inexpensive ecologically friendly hotel high in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. The comfortable hostel offers affordable accommodation and provides you with a great base for day hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, acclimating and exploring indigenous markets.

A new eco-hostel in beautiful Baños, ecuador, established by a Kiwi/Aussie couple. They offer a comfortable, peaceful and sustainable alternative to enjoy the town and it's surrounds, with wonderful views of valleys, hills and the Rio Pastaza.
